Zone 5 Amateur Championship Set For Late May

The 2021 Zone 5 Amateur Championship will be heading to the Cowichan Valley. The first round goes on May 29th at Cowichan GC and the second on May 30th at Duncan Meadows.

The Zone 5 Amateur is 36 holes of stroke play in two rounds of 18 holes each day played in three divisions: Amateur, Men’s Mid-Amateur, and Men’s Master 40.

The tournament is open to all amateurs who are members of Member Clubs of the Zone up to and including those with a handicap factor of 6.0.

Amateurs who are not members of Member Clubs of the Zone are permitted to enter if they meet the handicap criteria and the field is not full; they will however not be eligible for Zone 5 Men quota spots in the BC Amateur.

Also being held concurrently is the Zone 5 Senior Men’s Amateur Championship (again 36 holes of stroke play in two rounds of 18 holes each day) played in two divisions: Senior Men’s and Super Senior Men’s.

The tournament is open to all amateur men who have reached their 55th birthday by the final day of the Zone Senior Amateur and over, and who are members of Member Clubs in the Zone. Those men that have reached their 65th birthday by the final day of Zone Senior will be eligible to compete for the HS Bell Memorial trophy for the low Super Senior in Zone 5.

Entry is limited to the low 48 handicap factors with a maximum handicap factor to be accepted of 18.0. In the event of tied handicaps for the final position, the position will go to the entry received first.
