Island Pros Playing Golf — And Lots Of It — For Charity

The PGA of BC has a long-standing relationship with the ALS Society of BC where PGA members tee it up from dawn to dusk for charity...

The PGA of BC Golfathon for ALS is a unique event that takes place at over 35 golf courses in BC during the month of June each year.

In 2021, professionals from six Vancouver Island facilities are currently scheduled to raise funds and awareness for ALS via the “Golfathon.”

One facility has already run (and we mean “run” literally) their event... Mount Brenton on June 1st.

Jan Best, Head Professional at Mt. Brenton Golf Course (shown in the image above), definitely started early. In an Instagram post, he said, “Thanks everyone for helping me raise thousands of dollars for the annual PGA Golf-A-Thon for ALS fundraiser. I began at 3:22am and played 10 rounds of 18 holes. We’ll do it all again next year!”
