Cowichan Golf Club member and social media influencer Sara Winter recently visited Thailand to compete for the title of Miss Grand International...

Winter recently represented Canada on the global stage at the Miss Grand International pageant in Bangkok, Thailand.

The born-and-raised Cowichan native has been no stranger to pageants in the past. Prior to this venture, she most recently competed at Miss Universe Canada in November 2020 where she was crowned Miss Grand International Canada.

She spent nearly a month in Thailand having completed a mandatory two-week quarantine full of pageant-related challenges prior to formal and in-person pageant activities and preliminary competitions. The finals took place on March 27, 2021.

Although Winter did not place at this particular pageant, she holds a number of titles and crowns from past competitions.

Her golf resume is equally impressive.

Despite only having taken up golf five years ago, Winter boasts a stunning seven holes-in-one as well as an ongoing partnership with TaylorMade Canada as a brand ambassador. Winter has competed in a number of local amateur tournaments as well as on a mini-tour in the United States in recent years. She hopes to one day join the professional ranks.

This won’t be the last Thailand sees Sara Winter. She told Instagram that she plans on returning for a golf tour.

Winter is also a social media influencer and has been featured on popular channels such as Barstool Sports and Golf Digest. With over 116,000 Instagram followers, Winter hopes to use her influence to grow the game of golf for women.

“I just want to make sure that I’m spreading positivity and happiness and keeping on a good platform for the younger generation to look at,” Winter told Chek News in a 2020 interview.
